Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI-06), a House Oversight Committee member, predicts liberals will double down on affirmative action hires in spite of a recent Supreme Court ruling striking down affirmative action in college admissions.
“The statements made by the Democrats and by President Biden after these decisions came out indicate that they’re outraged, and they want to accomplish this goal in some other fashion,” he said told the Just the News, No Noise TV show recently.
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to strike down the usage of affirmative action in the college admissions process, which led to elected officials and leaders giving their statements in either support of the ruling or against it.
“We cannot let this decision be the last word. I want to emphasize: We cannot let this decision be the last word,” the White House said in a press release.
Grothman predicted that diversity hires will continue to go up in federal agencies.
“In his proposed budget, President Biden has equity panels in every government agency,” he said. “I don’t care which one it is: Department of the Interior or Department of Labor where again, and again, they’re going to be hiring people based on their definition of race. They’ll be firing people that way.”
A press release from the White House earlier this year explains the purpose of equity teams and how they would benefit the federal government.
“The Executive Order strengthens requirements for agencies to build and resource Agency Equity Teams and designate senior leaders accountable for implementing the President’s equity mandate,” the release reads.
Grothman also predicted that this is going to be used as a way for Democrats to get more votes in elections.
“These are things that should be brought up, because the Democrat party is going to bring them up,” he said. “They are going to try to use these ridiculous race obsessed forms to get more votes in the public eye. And we have to explain exactly what Joe Biden is about.”
